IS YOUR SCHOOL AND ARE YOUR INSTRUCTORS STATE CERTIFIED?

Adriano’s Driving School is a state licensed school. (Lic. #C00629). All of our instructors are licensed and finger printed both for state and federal agencies. They are trained extensively by our senior instructor who is a MD state certified driver education teacher with almost two decades of experience. Our full-time staff has been with our company for almost 20 years and our part-time instructors are advanced license holders. Our Owner and President has over 40 years of experience as an educator including working as a principal for over 20 years.

Do I need to have a learner's permit to take driver education in Maryland?

No. Students who do not yet possess a Learner's Permit only need to have one to participate in the 6 hours of behind-the-wheel training. There is no need to have a permit for the in class portion of the program.

How old should my student be to start the State Driver Education Program, and what is the best way to progress through the training?

The Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration and Adriano’s Driving School recommend that students start Driver Education as early as age 15 or older, progress through the 30 hours of in-class instruction to prepare for the MVA Learner's Permit Exam which a student can take at 15 years and 9 months; and then complete the behind-the-wheel portion of the training after the Learner's Permit is obtained. It is best to stretch the training over a period of time to give each student the opportunity to absorb both the in-class and behind-the-wheel material.

How old do I have to be to get a learner's permit in Maryland?

You have to be 15 years and 9 months old to sit for your MVA Law/Knowledge Test. You do not have to have taken Driver Education to get a learner's permit. You must study the Maryland Driver Handbook and take a test at a full service MVA location. 

WILL I USE YOUR CAR AND AM I INSURED WHILE I AM TAKING LESSONS?

The car used for instruction is a new, clean, air conditioned, fully insured and dual controlled vehicle. You do not need insurance while you are driving with our school. Neither you nor your parents are liable or in need of insurance during your lessons.
